Monroe-Union County Economic Development announces the hiring of Mr. Evan Mozingo as their New Projects Manager / Marketing Coordinator. Evan is a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business. Mozingo joins a long-term established team lead by Chris Platé, Executive Director of Economic Development.
Mozingo interned with Monroe-Union County Economic Development in the summer of 2017. During his time as an intern, he assisted on a variety of projects including the EDC’s annual existing industry wage survey, site and building databases, marketing efforts for the Paris Air Show, and website improvements.
”After my internship, I felt a real calling into economic development and am elated to join the Monroe-Union County team,” stated Evan Mozingo. “Union County is a great place to live and do business. It will be exciting to help market and sell a community that is so successful and one I truly believe in.”
Evan also comes to the economic development field knowing the demands required to be successful by watching his father, Mr. Michael Mozingo of ElectriCities of North Carolina, as he has been helping companies in the Charlotte Region for many years.
“We are excited about adding Evan to our team and the unique talents he has demonstrated both with his internship, but also his achievements in one of the most challenging business schools in the country,” said Chris Platé. “We have high expectations for Evan and the additional skills he brings to our team.”
